路由器查看路由表是不是有与报文的目的地址匹配的表项。假定路由表中包含匹配的项，并且下一跳地址是其他一个路由器，该路由器可以通过以太网接口1到达。然后路由器需要查看下一跳的第二层地址。假设它没有该地址，则需要在以太网接口1发送ARP广播报文。假设没有接收到ARP呼应，路由器则将该报文丢弃。

(The router checks whether the routing table has an entry that matches the destination address of the packet. Assume that the routing table contains a matching entry, and the next hop address is another router, reachable via Ethernet interface 1. The router then needs to look at the Layer 2 address of the next hop. Assuming it does not have this address, it needs to send ARP broadcast packets on Ethernet interface 1. Assuming no ARP response is received, the router discards the packet.)
