路由器查看路由表是不是有与报文的目的地址匹配的表项。假定路由表中包含匹配的项，并且下一跳地址是别的一个路由器，该路由器能够通过以太网接口1到达。然后路由器需要查看下一跳的第二层地址。假设它没有该地址，则需要在以太网接口1发送ARP播送报文。假设没有接收到ARP照应，路由器则将该报文扔掉。

(The router checks whether the routing table has an entry that matches the destination address of the packet. Assume that the routing table contains a matching entry and that the next hop address is another router that can be reached via Ethernet interface 1. The router then needs to look at the Layer 2 address of the next hop. Assuming it does not have this address, it needs to send an ARP broadcast packet on Ethernet interface 1. Assuming no ARP response is received, the router discards the packet.)
