大多数通讯服务商所供应的无线网络使用没有涉入语音领域，但老牌的Sprint、WorldCom、Nucentrix及新秀Clearwire和WinBeam等都已将语音使用纳入他们的发展设计。语音使用在无线网络中被大家称“第二代解决方案”。
