(This book introduced the method of program writing under MicrosoftWindows98, MicrosoftWindowsNT4.0 and WindowsNT5.0. These programs are written in C and use the original WindowsApplicationProgrammingInterface (API). As discussed later in this chapter, this is not the only way to write Windows programs. However, no matter how you end up writing your program, understanding the Windows API is very important.
